Over the years many features that were once jailbreak-only made their way to iOS or via third-parties through the App Store, but there is still many things you can do with jailbreak tweaks that aren’t possible on non-jailbroken devices. 1. MapsOpener-

Although the introduction of the Google Maps iOS app relieved some frustrations in the face of Apple’s criticized Maps app, users still couldn’t’ use Google’s offering as the default maps app on iOS when using Siri or opening URLs. Thankfully the jailbreak community came to the rescue with this “MapsOpener” tweak that allows you to do exactly that.

2. Octoupus Keyboard-

One feature getting a lot of attention in the recently launched BlackBerry 10 is its predictive typing feature. Some reviewers even think its faster and more accurate than iOS or Android’s onscreen keyboards. 3. Quasar-

Something that is always a debate regarding the future of iOS is whether or not Apple should implement a way to run apps side by side. The ability to view multiple apps at once and resize windows is something that is already possible for jailbroken iPad users thanks to a tweak known as Quasar for true multitasking and app window management.

4. TetherMe-

Carriers in some countries charge extra on monthly bills to enable iOS’s Personal Hotspot feature for sharing your iOS device’s data connection. Although this is something that carriers might frown upon, jailbreak tweak TetherMe provides a way to enable the option on all carriers for one time fee of $0.99.

5. FullForce-

When Google Maps landed as an iPhone app on the App Store, jailbroken iPad users had no problem running the app full screen thanks to an app called FullForce. One of the more popular apps on Cydia to provide this functionality, the tweak allows you to run many apps full screen without the distortion of the 2x zoom feature that iOS provides. The developers keep a list of compatible apps that will scale nicely on Cydia.

6. NowNow-

Google Now has received much attention recently, mostly because it appears to be a little quicker and sometimes more accurate than Siri. That’s why it’s not surprising many have taken advantage of similar functionality baked into the Google Search iOS app. With jailbreak tweak NowNow, you’ll be able to activate Google Now by holding the home button (or other hotkey), allowing you to use Google voice search features from wherever you are in the OS.

7. DisplayRecorder-

An app of the same name briefly popped up on the App Store last year, but the original Display Recorder app from developer Ryan Petrich remains as a Cydia tweak. The app not only allows you to record your display but also includes optional mic audio recording, YouTube uploading, adjustable settings, and remote control via your browser.

8. SparrowPush-

Sparrow had plans to charge for push notifications shortly before it was grabbed by Google and development came to a slow. For those still holding onto Sparrow as your default mail app, jailbreak tweak SparrowPush will provide you with push notifications through a free download on Cydia.

9. iUsers-

Another big feature that many iOS users over the years have suggested Apple implement is the ability to have multi-user profiles. Jailbreak tweak iUsers provides that functionality for iPad users allowing them to log in and out of multiple accounts from the lock screen.

10. Dashboard X 2.0-

Yet another feature that has been lacking from iOS is widgets. They are a quite popular feature that Android users always mention when noting iOS’s shortcomings, but with Dashboard X 2.0 you can get customizable, resizable widgets on your iOS device for $2.
